Fall

Autumn marks the transition from summer into winter. My favorite part of autumn is the changing of the leaves and preparing for the Holidays that come with the season. Decorating, hosting parties, baking and preparing delicious comfort food !! I think I've experienced it all from the kids party to the teen parties to the adult parties. I've found and come up with some great ideas ..I'm excited just thinking about it.. Here's a few of my favorite things !!!

Halloween decorating on a budget: Decorate your mantel with fall foliage and scarecrows or whatever small pieces you have, fill it with the colors of autumn. Your guests will feel the warmth of the holiday when the enter your home.

Drape your entrance in darkness: strips of torn plastic to twist in the wind. Lay a heavy-duty black garbage bag flat on a work surface, open end toward you. With scissors, cut 1 1/2-inch vertical strips from the bottom, stopping a few inches from the top. Cut open one side seam, then unfold bag. Use masking tape or tacks to hang. Then, with hands a few inches apart, grasp each strand and pull; stretch strands in several places for a decrepit effect.

Quick decorating idea for inside your home, fill a small wooden or ceramic planter with small pinecones, winter squash, indian corn and small pumpkins and fill in the gaps with hay and fall leaves. This little trick will capture the spirit of autumn season

Halloween food for kids parties make almond finger cookies in the shape of real fingers, with almond slivers colored with red food coloring as creepy fingernails.

Heap on green icing; press on mini-candy-coated-chocolate eyes, a candy-corn nose, and licorice-lace hair and eyebrows. An upside-down chocolate ice-cream cone makes a wicked hat.

Fun Halloween party game for the kids Dangling donuts. Bobbing for apples is an October favorite, but bobbing for donuts might be an even more enjoyable way to play with your food. Simply attach a string to a donut, attach the other end of the string to a tree branch or the ceiling and allow the donut to swing freely in midair. Have guests hold their hands behind their backs and try to get the donuts off the strings using only their mouths. It's harder than it sounds!

Party favors for adults Cut the bugs off plastic spider rings then puncture their centers with a needle, insert the toothpick into the hole from the bottom , color tip with a black marker . Insert the bug toothpicks into mini cheese cubes or cubed fruit.

Cocktails for the Adults. (Yummy )

Screwed-Up Screwdriver
4 cup ice
1/2 cup freshly squeezed tangerine juice
1 1/2 ounces black vodka
1 black licorice twist, for serving
Place ice in a tall glass. Pour juice into glass. Pour vodka over the back of a cocktail spoon into glass so it sits on top of juice and creates a layer of black. Slice 1/4 inch off each end of licorice, and use as a straw. Serve immediately.
Berry Scary Martini
1 ounce black vodka
2 ounces cherry juice
Fresh raspberries and blueberries, for garnish
Combine ice, vodka, and cherry juice in a cocktail shaker; shake vigorously. Pour into a martini glass. Thread raspberries and blueberries onto a cocktail skewer, and place in drink. Serve immediately.

Enjoy !!
